Dear All,
“Children are like buds in a garden and should be carefully and lovingly nurtured, as they are the future of the nation and the citizens of tomorrow”, said Jawaharlal Nehru, the first Prime Minister of India. Like many other visionaries, he understood the potential held by the younger generation. In remembrance of that, every year on November 14th is celebrated as Children’s Day in India.
The Kovaion Team along with patrons and contributors such as Mahalakshmi, Zenith Kattral Maiyam, and Education Supervisors for Puzhal area, visited Corporation Government Primary School, Kasi Koil Kuppam, Ennur, Chennai – 600057, Tamilnadu, India.
Kovaion Team visited various school in north chennai area to contribute towards their success. We are well supported by Mahalakshmi and Zenith Kattral Maiyam. Education Supervisors for Puzhal area joined us and shared their views.
About School:
Kasi Kovil Kuppam Primary School is a school filled with raw talent. With 91 students from LKG to 5th Standard in attendance, they are actively involved in a variety of subjects, including arts, sports, and cultural activities. The enthusiasm with which every student participates in these activities is outstanding. Their energetic participation makes it clear why underprivileged children need to be given a platform with resources that lets them learn and grow as individuals.
This school is the place for education and growth because of passionate teachers such as:
- T.Selvasundari (Head Teacher) —She guides the school with a lot of determination and dedication. She has been heading this school for 12+ years.
- G.Sudha (for 3rd & 4th class) — She guides the students towards continuous education
- R.Thamayanthi (for 1st & 2nd)— An energetic teacher with a strong motivation.
- J.Buvana (LKG & UKG) — A calm teacher who offers the first step towards children’s education.
Zenith Kattral Maiyam:
Ali basha with the vision towards importance of education, heading this group for 25 years. People mentored by him continuously visit various schools in north Chennai area and help kids & students on education, school equipment and infrastructure improvements. Logesh, Santhana kumar, Sandhiya, Ammu joined us and conducted the whole event.
Mahalakshmi is an energetic individual with volunteering activities towards education, painting and nature protection. Earlier, Maha and Hari donated chairs to the school.
Parents:
Parents provide continuous support for the school. They support in school maintenance, conducting events, helping teachers and minor facility improvements. Their contribution during children’s day celebration includes dance choreography, costumes and event organisation. They actively participated by the parent competitions.
Sports: Teachers, Volunteers conducted various sports activities including spoon race, balloon bursting.
On November 14 2019, prizes were distributed to every outstanding student. There are a lot of games and fun activities, including sports and dance. The dances were choreographed by the parents, who also helped with the costumes and the event’s organization.

The entire event brought together students, teachers, and parents, who form the future pillars of our nation. The importance of recognizing talent and providing them with the things that can empower them got highlighted.
The Kovaion Team will continue to empower and volunteer in every way possible to strengthen the platform that students need and cherish. The smiles on the young faces reassured our vision of helping everyone toward a better future.
