Feb 2017 – A day with Kids in a Govt. School in Bangalore

Kovaion Trust along with the volunteers from Kovaion Consulting spent one day with children in “Sri Yogeshwarananda English Primary and High School(a Govt Aided school), Ulsoor – Bangalore”. The aim of the event is to spend a day with the students with various activities like Quiz Competition, Drawing competition, Inspirational Video Stories on Abdul Kalam & Narayana Moorthi, Tips on how to handle Aptitude Tests and Presentation on things invented in India.

Drawing Competition

Drawing competitions were conducted for Grade 5 and 6 on the theme “Yoga” and “My Classroom”. This activity was organised to explore and encourage creativity in children and offer them a platform to show their skill in drawing and colouring. It inspired children to think and work creatively and promoted artistic excellence. Children participated earnestly in the competition and came up with amazing artwork in drawing.

Quiz Competitions

Quiz competitions were conducted from Grade 5 to Grade 9. For quiz competition, each grade was divided into 5-6 group with 5 students in each group. All the questions were asked using the smart boards provided so it was a very interactive and interesting session for the students. Mazes of intuited and interesting questions were asked to the students, testing each aspect of the educational knowledge base. The quiz had a rapid-fire round which made it more exciting for the students. The students were very happy in answering the quiz and learning new informative things.

Trophies and colouring kits were given to 34 students who won the competitions. Toddler & Kids informative calendars were handed over to the principal to use it in the classrooms.

We would like to thank Mrs. Sumathi, Principal of the School and her staffs for their support through out the day and Mr. Rishav Rakshit, a volunteer from “Youth For Seva” organization  who accompanied us and helped us in organizing the event. We also thank Mrs. Ramya Venkat for donating Kids Calendars to Kovaion Trust.
